SERVE HAPPILY
Fighting in military should be an honor. However, if people did not have a reason to fight, then what was the point? The military draft for the Vietnam War drafted young people who did not even know why they were fighting. The 26th Amendment allowed 18 to 21 year olds to vote for the members of Congress that would eventually put them in war. The right to vote increased morale in the military and gave the young fighters a reason to fight for their country. For example, the Americans won the revolutionary war because they had a desire to win and their future was on the line. Americans were eager to join the colonial militia while the British were sent overseas without reason. After the 26th Amendment was passed, the 18 year olds defended their country with pride and reason.
